Peaceful Polopos between the mountains and the sea

Polopos is one of the famous white villages of Andalucia, close to the coast, but away from the crowd. It is part of the Alpujarra and the province of Granada and looks out over the Costa Tropical. Only 5 kilometers from the coast as the crow flies, you will find the village at 800 meters above sea level. Or, as we like to say: between the mountains and the sea. The views over the Mediterranean Sea are stunning. In the autumn you can see African mountains peeking back over the horizon.

Small luxury B&B

Casa 3 is a small luxury B&B in a quiet neighborhood. You will sleep in total silence and wake up with the sound of only the birds. Our two rooms are on street level and are located on opposite sides of a small patio. One floor lower is where the pigs, the chicken and the mules used to be held and wine was made. Your hosts Thysa and Wijnand live there now, so they are always near in case you need tips on where to go or if you have any questions.

With only two rooms available it is fair to say that Casa 3 is a small B&B. Each room has its own outside space and its own bathroom and toilet. There is a kitchen on the same floor that is shared between the guests. It is also possible to rent both rooms as an apartment, in which case the whole floor is yours.

Smoking is only allowed outside. If you have a pet that is part of your family who travels with you, please let us know beforehand.

About Casa 3

Thysa and Wijnand are the founders of Casa 3. They first traveled through Europe in a 40-year-old camper-van recording cooking videos and illustrating childrens’ books. They then found a way to win a house in the Alpujarra by competing in a Dutch reality show. Both had thrown out their televisions fifteen years earlier and were hardly fans of the genre.

Nevertheless, high culture prevailed when they were voted honorary citizens after organizing an art exhibition in Polopos with 30 regional artists participating.

They are still engaged with turning Polopos in an art colony and revitalizing and repopulating the village. Casa 3 is now an artist residence, a cooking studio and a bed and breakfast. Thysa has written and illustrated four children's’ books and Wijnand a cookbook.

They invite everyone to visit, make art, cook and live in Polopos!
