Artist Residence Alpujarra in Polopos
A better suited location than the Alpujarra is hardly imaginable for an artist residence. Peace and quiet, spectacular views over the Mediterranean Sea, the stunning landscape of the mountains directly next to it, almonds in blossom, herds of goats and sheep grazing the slopes and white villages where time seems to have come to a standstill.
Each AiR project should either have an impact on the community by providing workshops, tutorials or demonstrations for the citizens of Polopos or creating and donating an artwork in the public domain that improves on the appeal of the village. Eligible artists have a clear and fitting proposal for what they want to achieve during the AiR program.
The AAP wants to provide local, national and international artists with inspiring and optimal circumstances for research, experiment and production. In this regard, the AAP acts as a network organization that works both locally and internationally to promote connections to support the artistic development of creators. By offering work periods and realizing projects in collaboration with other institutions, the AAP connects the artistic motives and ideas of the artists to developments in the artistic and social domain.
